I found Brooker's Natural Meats at the end of December 2012. Ten years prior I was a vegetarian because I couldn't find animal products that were ethically farmed at a price I could afford. My first visit to the country store opened my eyes to ethically purchasing meat. I met Tom Brooks, and he took an hour of his time to inform me about where the animals came from and how they were raised. Being able to support small local farms in Ontario where the animals are raised the way nature intended, without the use of antibiotics and hormones, while supporting an environmentally sustainable farming method, allows me to be the change I want to see in the world. Have you tried Brooker's smoked chops? All in all, Brooker's has completely transformed the way I shop for my food!
